Buick Envision

The Teen Driver Mode in the Buick Envision allows you to set parameters on your teenage driver while operating the vehicle. By programming a key fob and designating it as the teen’s key, you can set up certain safety functions that can promote better driving habits.

The Teen Driver Mode is an available feature in Buick SUV models and is not standard.

In this blog, we’ll give you step-by-step directions for activating the Teen Driver Mode. After the directions, we’ll share how to get the most out of this feature.

Registering The Key Fob

First, choose which of your Envision key fobs will be used for your teenage driver.

Next, get inside your Envision and start the engine. Remain in park throughout the remainder of the process.

Find the SETTINGS icon on your Envision’s Infotainment screen and press it. Then, choose VEHICLE and TEEN DRIVER>.

You will be asked to create a 4-Digit PIN. This PIN is to protect the programming you set up.

You will be asked to place the Teen Driver key fob in the transmitter pocket. This will be found inside the middle console between the driver and front passenger seats.

Now, you will select SETUP KEYS. Then, press ADD to activate the key fob’s registration.

Once the registration is confirmed, you can select OK.

Managing Your Teen Driver Mode

Now that your teen’s key fob is registered, you’re able to start programming it to your liking.

On your Infotainment screen, hit the SETTINGS icon, then select VEHICLE, followed by TEEN DRIVER.

Once the Teen Driver screen is loaded, find MANAGE SETTINGS and press it.

The settings page will offer a list of different features and parameters you can activate, such as:

● Buckle to Drive
● Teen Driver Speed Limiter
● Teen Driver Speed Warning
● Audio Volume Limit

You will need to set the Speed Warning, Speed Limiter, and Audio Volume Limit manually. With each function, you can save your settings by clicking the BACK ARROW on each screen.

The Report Card

You can always check your teen’s driving report by clicking the REPORT CARD button on the Teen Driver home screen.

The Report Card will let you know

● How many miles your teen has driven
● What their max speed was
● How many speed warnings they received
● How many times they pushed the throttle wide open
● When traction and stability controls were activated
● When the antilock brakes were activate
